A good sitcom can be a beautiful thing — likable characters, usually predictable plots, and a similar structure from one episode to the next. But it is also representative of a bygone era. As TV storytelling has evolved over the years, both thematically and in terms of narrative design, the sitcom has struggled to keep up with the demands of the modern viewer.
