James Horner tragically passed away in a single-person plane crash in 2015 at the age of 61, but his work has had an incredible impact on Hollywood and will likely retain a reputation of greatness for quite some time. For instance, Avatar: The Way of Water, a film released in 2022, was dedicated to Horner — and Bill Paxton — because he was supposed to score it.
