Directed by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail, Leave the World Behind tells the story of an emerging apocalypse through the eyes of two families who reluctantly cross paths. While on vacation at a relatively secluded house on Long Island, Amanda (Julia Roberts) and her husband Clay (Ethan Hawke) are interrupted one night by the homeowners. Detailing news of an apparent blackout, G.H. (Mahershala Ali) and his daughter Ruth (Myha'la) request to stay at the house until the issue subsides. Steeped in mystery, the main characters know next to nothing about what’s happening, nor is the audience aware of the bigger picture.
