It has been over a year since James Gunn announced his plans for the DCU with his presentation of the Chapter One slate of film and television series titled "Gods & Monsters." The franchise will have a soft launch with television series like Creature Commandos and Waller before truly taking off with the release of Superman, previously titled Superman: Legacy. That film is slated for release on July 11, 2025, and with principal photography set to begin filming soon, it has started to fill out its cast of characters.
