A new entry in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise might still be a long way off, but the project has been given a positive update by producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Beginning in 2003 with The Curse of the Black Pearl, the Pirates of the Caribbean series has grossed more than $4 billion dollars over five films, with the latest entry, Dead Men Tell No Tales, released in 2017. While Pirates of the Caribbean 6 has yet to be given the official green light from Disney, producer Jerry Bruckheimer says it's inevitable that the House of Mouse will return to the billion dollar franchise that all began with a theme park attraction.
