There was a time early in the AI craze when people would feed scripts into a computer and have them spit out something “new” based on what the algorithm had analyzed. And although a few, like the Thomas Middleditch-starring short film Sunspring, managed to shine through, the results were largely unworkable messes that came across like patchwork, stitching together every trope and beat upon which these films rely.
