Just before the end of the year, Marvel Studios is expected to deliver the biggest movie in recent memory with the release of Avengers: Doomsday. The MCU's fifth Avengers movie and second theatrical release of 2026 is already being described as the biggest comic book movie ever. The event brings Robert Downey Jr. back to play Doctor Doom alongside a cast of MCU veterans and legacy stars from films outside of Marvel Studios. If that was not enough, the sequel will also bring back two of the MCU's best directors in Joe and Anthony Russo, who previously directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, and the last two Avengers films.
