I’ve watched enough sci-fi to know one thing: we hand out the word “masterpiece” way too easily. Every time a new show drops, someone crowns it the next Severance before the finale even airs. A few weeks later, it completely disappears from the streaming charts and the conversation. I’ve fallen for the hype myself, so these days, I don’t judge a sci-fi series by one brilliant episode or one clever twist. I judge it by what happens after the excitement wears off.
