As a long-time fan of The Far Side, Larson's 90s run was bittersweet. It was honorable that Larson left when he felt it was time, rather than dragging it out, bringing the run to a close in 1995, but it was a shame to let him go. At the same time, many other fans and I grew up more with his 80s collections, and when I read and feel nostalgic for his work, I don't often drift into his 90s offerings. The thing is, nostalgia is powerful, often misused, and sometimes you have to challenge yourself.
