While audiences await Timothée Chalamet to reprise his role as Willy Wonka in a sequel to Wonka, Netflix is putting its own spin on the beloved chocolate maker. After acquiring the Roald Dahl Story Company in 2021, Netflix is finally moving forward with its own spin on the author's beloved novel, Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. Instead of remaking the timeless classic, Netflix is creating an animated film that serves as a sequel and is giving it a theatrical rollout.
