Stepping away from the main mystery plot, the episode dives into John Stewart's origin story. It explores how he became Hal Jordan's protégé and eventual replacement in the Green Lantern Corps. Ever since Dennis O'Neil and Neal Adams created him, and he debuted in Green Lantern Vol. 2 #87, John Stewart has been a significant part of the DC Universe. However, the franchise has struggled to keep his origin consistent.
