Sydney Sweeney's The Housemaid became a box office smash as we headed into 2026, so it's no surprise that others would want to follow in its footsteps and try to replicate the movie's winning formula. Netflix recently got in on the action with a psychological thriller that's inspired by true events and originally aired on Lifetime earlier this year. Now, after just a week on its new streaming home, the film is already one of the biggest movies on Netflix despite a disastrous reception.
