With Disney owning Marvel Comics and DC Comics under Warner Bros., many other major studios have turned to independent comics to cash in on the popularity of superhero films and comic book adaptations. Amazon MGM has found great success with writer Garth Ennis, whose dark satire The Boysbecame a five-season streaming phenomenon that launched a franchise including the recently concluded Gen V and the upcoming Vought Rising. It appears Amazon MGM is now looking to bring Ennis's work to the big screen by adapting one of his more recent titles.
