Netflix stands out among other streaming services not only for its vast catalog of films and television series, but also for the various media it uses to tell stories. Animation has long flown under the radar and has received less priority and credence in film and television, though the age of streaming has definitely helped make the case for its capacity to tell stories. Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio is a prime example, with the stop-motion animated film receiving critical acclaim and plenty of awards recognition. They also made 2D/3D animated projects, like their series Arcane, based on the League of Legends video game, that pushed the limits of what animation can do.
