Saturday Night Live is one of the longest-running and most successful live comedy shows in American TV history. The show is recorded in front of a live studio audience, which is rarely done outside some comedies and game shows. During each episode, the cast welcomes a special host and a musical guest. Both the host and musical guest are brought into sketches that parody their collective or present work, gossip that surrounds them, or current political situations making the news. More often than not, the collective sketches of each episode parody someone or something within politics and pop culture.
