This time, Lee and Washington join forces with Akira Kurosawa, the master Japanese filmmaker who directed dozens of movies over six decades. Highest 2 Lowest is an adaptation of Kurosawa's 1963 classic, High and Low, which was based on the 1959 novel King's Ransom by Evan Hunter.
