With the holiday season in full swing, re-running the all-time best Christmas movies is surely on the wish list of many. Of course, as timeless as many of the greatest holiday films remain decades after they were made, it's easy to lose sight of when and where the actual stories take place. Although the best Christmas movies are not always contemporary, many use the past as a lens to make a statement about the present or to reflect on a character's childhood memory of the magical holiday.
