It has become more evident over the past year that there is entirely too much TV, and most of it is mediocre at best. Don't yell at me – take it up with the networks and streaming overlords. But all of that bad TV made the stuff that was truly great feel especially rewarding. The best shows of 2025 vary in genre – sci-fi, thriller, comedy, drama, documentary... experiments? – but they all share a common humanistic thread.
