When it comes to adaptations of Stephen King's work, the results can be hit or miss. For every forgettable Children of the Corn sequel and odd entry like The Mangler, there are also lauded hits, with award-worthy fare such as The Shawshank Redemption and box-office sensations like Andy Muschietti's 2017 adaptation of It. Given the author's diverse library, spanning horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and drama, he's attracted plenty of notable talent to bring his works to life. Mike Flanagan has become a notable name in recent King adaptations, but the author has even had the likes of Stanley Kubrick direct his work.
