Ryan Gosling isn't done with the sci-fi genre following the runaway success of Project Hail Mary. The Blade Runner 2049 star's latest outing has been racking up box-office records in its first week of release, opening to $80.5 million domestically and $140.9 million worldwide. Those figures give Project Hail Mary the best box-office opening of the year so far, and it also became the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2026, with the movie sure to climb that chart in the coming weeks.
