Netflix and disappointment go hand in hand. The streamer's biggest series, Stranger Things, fizzled out after five seasons with a disappointing finale, and fans were disappointed when the hit wrestling drama, GLOW, was unceremoniously canceled after three seasons. But you can't say Netflix and disappointment in the same sentence without bringing up The Witcher. The high fantasy action series, based on the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski and the video games by CD Projekt Red, was meant to be Netflix's answer to Game of Thrones. But thanks to a myriad of controversial changes to the source material, the show began taking on water after its first season, causing Henry Cavill to flee the sinking ship. What's more frustrating is that Netflix has already proved it could deliver a near-perfect fantasy adaptation just a few years earlier.
