For the first time in over 20 years, fans were set to get another chapter in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer story, courtesy of a Sarah Michelle Gellar-led reboot. While she's known for her work in I Know What You Did Last Summer and the live-action Scooby-Doo films, Buffy Summers is Gellar's most memorable role, one she played over seven seasons spent fighting vampires, demons, and other assorted threats while also trying to live a normal life. Described as a continuation rather than a reboot or a sequel, Buffy: New Sunnydale was set to revisit the titular heroine's story in a world that hadn't seen her in quite some time.
