Much like the killer doll the series is based on, the Child's Play franchise refuses to stay dead, and a new update on Chucky's future could be exactly what we've waited years to hear. Don Mancini wrote the original 1988 Child's Play, in which murderer Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) used his final living moments to perform a voodoo ritual that transferred his soul into that of a pint-sized Good Guy doll. In an age where franchises are constantly rebooted and reimagined, Mancini impressively wrote six sequels and developed the three-season SYFY TV series continuation, Chucky. Now, Mancini is prepared to deliver something we haven't seen for the franchise since 2004.
